I'm glad you could visit me in...
My Own Backyard! You are probably wondering why I call it that! It is because I am doing what I always wanted to do - working at home, in my own backyard!
I have done a lot of things in my life, including learning to be a Behavioral Science Specialist in the Army, working with people with disabilities, becoming fluent in American Sign Language, and tutoring English As A Second Language. I currently tutor online and have done so for over 4 years.
I began tutoring ESL as a volunteer with a local church. We had a very happy group of students from several countries. We had a lot of fun learning together and talking about the things we loved. We produced a small book of our favorite memories, and we spent many happy hours visiting each others' homes and spending time in the community learning to talk about normal, real, everyday interests and concerns.
Here in My Own Backyard, I would like to share that kind of experience with you. My focus is not on preparing you for tests or drilling you with correct grammar. My focus is on helping you to learn to speak freely, naturally, fluently, and happily about the things that really matter to you.
I hope you will join me!
Just Me,
Suzanne
